Marjorie Wolasky has been a licensed attorney in the State of Florida since 1981. Her practice is focused primarily in Elder Law (with an emphasis on Medicaid Planning), and includes Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, Guardianship, Special Needs Trusts and Qualification for Public Benefits for the Elderly and the Disabled.
Ms. Wolasky is originally from Riverdale, New York. She attended Bronx High School of Science and SUNY College at Oneonta where she majored and obtained a dual degree in both Economics and Political Science. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Miami School of Law.
After graduating from law school, she was employed as in-house counsel at Wometco Enterprises, Inc. where she handled a variety of corporate matters including purchases, sales and leasing of commercial real estate, business purchases and sales, and other business law matters.
She then established her own law practice in Miami, Florida in 1986 which has grown to a successful boutique firm.
Ms. Wolasky is a member of the Executive Council of the Real Property; Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, (“RPPTL,”) where she serves as Co-Chair of the Liaison to the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and is a member of the Guardianship, Power of Attorney and Advanced Directives Committee; Probate Law and Procedure Committee; Trust Law Committee, Asset Protection Committee and Ethics and Professionalism Committee. She also served as the representative of the Elder Law Section on an Ad Hoc Committee which established Florida’s Trust Code.
Ms. Wolasky is also an active member of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar where she serves as Co-Liaison to the RPPTL Section of the Florida Bar. She is a past Chair and current member of the Elder Law Certification Committee and a member of the Special Needs Trust Committee. She is also a member of Joint Task Force of the Elder Law Section of the Bar and the Florida Association of Elder Law Attorneys.
Ms. Wolasky is also a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the Florida Association of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Academy of Special Needs Planners and the Dade County Bar Association.
Ms. Wolasky is also Co-Author of Chapter 17 of the Administration of Trusts Manual published by the Florida Bar.
At her firm, her most important goal is that when a client comes in, they are able to leave feeling confident and in charge of their situation, knowing that they are in good hands when it comes to developing a plan to handle the expense of long term care and their estate planning.
